i love this incredible spread from harper's bazaar of stam and heidi mount

but it made me realize that friendship is really an uncommon theme in fashion photography.

what about high fashion seems to inspire alienation? sure, there are numbers of shots with models... standing next to each other? or using each other as scenery?


but editoral content of the women interacting as if they actually know and LIKE each other is kind of rare. which is almost the opposite of what big time retailers do. they always have gaggles of pals having fun in their clothes like this h&m ad:


so i scoured my personal archives of fashion photos to find a few photos that portray friendship, something that i consider to be one of the most important aspects of human life! (wouldn't you think that more photographers would want to capture something so full of energy?)

obviously lily cole is a force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry, but with The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (heath ledger's final film) and a list of several other film projects, i am really looking forward to her acting career.

if her acting ability is even a quarter as diverse as her skill as a model, she certainly has a bright future. i am really excited about her future projects such as Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll.

i always find her terribly captivating... when my boyfriend saw a picture of her he said "how old is that girl, like eight?" haha, i guess i just have a thing for all the doll face models

i saw a recent photo of sisters/band nina sky on perez hilton, i think they're suing their manager or something... but they look really awesome! i liked their style when that one single was released in '02 or something, and today they really look cool and chic.
