she said:
“I bought the bag because Matt Williams, my creative director and closest friend, said, ‘You must buy a Birkin because it’s the most classic bag.’ I hate all purses; I used to buy cheap, punk-looking, sloppy bags in New York, and I would stud them with stuff. I had a little glue gun, and I used to glue rhinestone studs, sequins, mirrors. The disco bra from the ‘Just Dance’ video I made with my own two hands. So I bought this [Birkin], I carried it, and then I saw stuff on the Internet like ‘Oh, Gaga holding a Birkin getting on a private plane — so much for hating money.’ So here is the irony: the most classic and iconic bag on the planet, but my fans don’t relate to it because it represents something they don’t have. So how do I create and make it into something that they will love and adore, and turn it into a performance-art piece in itself? My fans are more iconic than this purse. And I love fashion, but I don’t love it more than my fans. And that’s what this bag is all about.”

i am most likely in the top 100 biggest lady gaga fans in the universe, so naturally i love hearing anything new from her as well as watching her live. for those of you who feel the same, this will be a treat!

it's not secret i am obsessed with kelis's latest album. her video for her next single 4th of july came out today and it is completely outrageous!

i notice that a lot of my posts have been somewhat music-centric lately. but i am listening to/LOVING kelis's latest album entitled flesh tone. it hasn't technically been released in the states yet? but... thanks to the internet i am listening to it now! it was release in the u.k. on monday.

i highly recommend it if you're into electronic dance tracks. which is basically the only kind of music i listen to. i cannot wait to go dancing tomorrow night!! it has been far too long.

now i don't exactly consider ke$ha one of the great trend setters of our generation or anything, but you have to hand it to the girl, she has BALLS. and at the end of the day, isn't that what personal style is all about? knowing what you like and having the balls to wear it? it's nice to see that the girls at the top of the charts these days aren't cookie cutter.

plus she says some brilliant things like "it's a recession, dancing is free!" something about her crazy is really refreshing. and one of her lyrics is "just show me where your dick's at"
