fashion gone rogue

okay

so i just went on another inadvertent hiatus, but ive just been so busy with work and school lately.

this isn't directly related to fashion, but sometimes i just like to stick in a few other relevant things on my blog. i just wanted to republish this audio from perez hilton of howard stern talking about heterosexism (im sorry one of my pet peeves is when people, i mean everyone does this, but when people use the word homophobia. phobia implies like a compulsive and irrational fear, something more psychological. sexism is a social construct) and why he tries to shy away from using the word "fag."

i am a hardcore believer in equal rights, and consider myself an ally to the LGBT community, so i always am full of pride when someone famous comes out against the inequality in our system.

anyway, he makes such simple, valid points. it's almost impossible to argue with him. check it out!

speaking of icons, i must say i am completely taken with dakota fanning. she and her sister, elle, are such natural actors it's a joy to watch them on screen.

i will be the first to admit that i HATED dakota when she was young because she was just in every single movie ever and making more money than julia roberts (who i also hate). but it just seems that youth is taking over the world (tavi? a style icon and taste maker at 13. willow smith? her first hit single at 9) so i've resigned myself to find the joy in young people expressing themselves, rather than be bitter at my own lack of success comparatively.

that being said, dakota is a star, a remarkable dresser, and an undeniable talent. i really look forward to seeing where her career goes in the future. not to mention the girl is damn photogenic!

a bit of emma

i recently had a request for more emma watson on my blog... so here she is starring in the new music video for her boyfriend (george craig)'s band called one night only.

the song is okay, the video is a little weird (but emma's outfit is awesome), and since they became public only this weekend i can't help but feel dating an icon is an attempt to help someone's musical career.

anyway, they did meet months ago on a burberry shoot (how british!). but i guess i had just hoped emma would date someone with better hair.

it's time

after months of doing nothing, it is time for me to actively do something about my hair. just because i am boring and can't seem to find any style i like, it is no excuse to have scary looking hair. i just kept putting it off because i figured i would find something i wanted to do with it at some point... but now my hair looks like this
